Logistics Coordinator

Role Purpose

The role ensures the effective management and distribution of the supply chain of goods. Plans and coordinates the commercial needs of the sales team with a vast network of suppliers while maintaining the uninterrupted procurement of goods.

Key Accountabilities

  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
  • Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
  • Plan and implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and safety records.
  • Respond to issues concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer related inquiries.
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
  • Oversee distribution center operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
  • Negotiate transportation rates or services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
  • Coordinate between the suppliers and the branches for the delivery and to follow the receiving of all related documents with suppliers.
  • Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability.
  • Contact suppliers when there are discrepancies in orders and ensure replacements in the quickest and least costly manner.
  • Maintain all items’ code, barcode, and description code on the system continuously and flawlessly.
  • Update the supplier’s price list and inform the team of any changes.
  • Ensure that negotiated prices & ordering terms are in line with business needs & suppliers’ agreements.
  • Act as an advisory on all trade and non-trade procurement matters.
  • Monitor the cycle of cash collected from showrooms.
  • Coordinate with banks on supplier payments, transfers, and cash deposits.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft AX experience is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data and understand connections.
  • Procedural mindset with the ability to multitask.
  • Impressive interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience in sanitaryware, tableware, and furniture are preferred.
