Role Purpose

The role is responsible for researching, selecting, and procuring products while setting short and long-term product plans according to market demand and overall company strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Recommend, set up, conduct, and analyze the needed market research covering SARA’s industries, competition, regions, and channels.
  • Review and analyze SARA’s existing product portfolio’s nature and scope and identify gaps in its offerings.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation by analyzing global trends, initiatives, and thorough analysis of customer needs, and creating or adapting products accordingly.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define channel strategy.
  • Source products matching regional taste and designs by understanding SARA’s customers and identifying potential trends.
  • Set the overall merchandising direction through detailed short- and long-term sales strategies; including but not limited to data-backed product selections aligned with sales reports and customer needs and requests.
  • Negotiate prices, obtain quotes, and settle agreements with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Create a network and relationship with global suppliers and maintain continuous assessment of their performance.
  • Monitor product performance, seek feedback from internal stakeholders and customers, and build on learnings.
  • Track order status, update sales and inventory teams, and follow up with suppliers to avoid delays.
  • Initiate product repositioning and replacement initiatives.
  • Liaise with analysts, stores, suppliers, and distributors.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with a proven track record required.
  • Experience in strategic planning and working with executives, suppliers, manufacturers, and product development teams.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience in sanitaryware, tableware, and furniture are preferred.
